FEMINISM IS A VOICE

Curated by Fahad Al Obaidly, I participated in a group exhibition of a number of local and Doha based artist exploring ideas of feminism in the region. The exhibition displayed a collection of 3D printed ceramics objects arranged within a composition of the ‘Finger Tables’ designed with Architects Independent. These objects and furniture were used as character in narrative films displayed alongside the exhibited pieces.

 

"MUHAWWIL" (TRANSFORMER)

MONIRA AL QADIRI, VCU of the Arts Qatar, 2017

I had the honour of curating  for Kuwaiti Artist Monira Al Qadiri's "Muhawwil" (Transformer) at the VCU arts Qatar Gallery. In addition to working with the gallery and the artist I was also responsible for content in the catalog.  I was enthusiastic to write this text from my perspective of the artist's work both as a fellow Kuwaiti and one who grew up around the subject matter of the artwork and also as an architect. 

3AJEEB, TASMEEM

VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH UNIVERITY QATAR, 2015

During the VCUQ biannual Tasmeem conference of 2015, named 3ajeeb,  I was given the responsibility to plan and manage the space of the university during the five days of the event. I was also responsible for the design and production of the exhibition and public spaces to reflect the theme of the conference.

As a partner of Small Architecture I exhibited and co curated works made on the premises of the La Fontaine by myself and my colleagues for an exhibition named Syncretic.

As a partner of London based design practice, Small Architecture ltd., I was responsible for securing and co curating an exhibition named Lamella of our Papercuts, Parametric Mushrabiyas and Snakeskin project.
